In a bold move that has left many scratching their heads and others applauding with confusion, Target has unveiled its new “Straight-Straight” Pride Collection designed exclusively for heterosexuals who feel excluded from the kaleidoscope of Pride Month celebrations.
“We heard our straight customers loud and clear,” said Target spokesperson Nancy Bradford while unveiling a mannequin wearing khaki shorts and a beige T-shirt emblazoned with the words “I’m Here for the Vibes, Not the Labels.” “Our Straight-Straight collection celebrates the rich tapestry of heterosexuality, in all its neutral tones and reasonable font sizes.”
The collection features items like cargo pants with “No Drama, Just Hetero” embroidery, socks that read “I’m Straight But Supportive,” and lawn chairs printed with “Heterosexual Vibes Only” in Comic Sans. Each item comes in a limited color palette of beige, taupe, and off-white, ensuring maximum visibility while blending seamlessly into suburban cookouts.
Critics were quick to point out that Pride Month is about uplifting marginalized identities, but Target executives insisted the collection is meant to “help everyone feel included, even those who don’t know what they’re being included in.” One manager added, “It’s not about exclusion. It’s about balance. And khakis.”
Social media responded with a mix of mockery and bewilderment. One viral tweet read, “Target’s Straight-Straight line is what happens when ‘All Lives Matter’ and a beige cardigan have a baby.” Another quipped, “Finally, something for the suburban dad who felt personally attacked by the rainbow aisle.”
At press time, Target confirmed plans to expand the line with scented candles named “Neutral Energy,” polos in “Bleached Coral,” and a commemorative mug reading “Pride: But Make It Subtle.”
