Starbucks faces controversy once again after unveiling a holiday cup which features Santa Clause making out passionately with Jesus Christ.
Concerned parents flocked to the internet in droves to express their concerns.
“My children don’t need to be seeing this. I mean, just look at them, so hot and passionate on that cup. How are my kids supposed to focus on their chores when they’re too busy staring at Santa Claus getting a mouthful of Jesus? I mean, the longer I stare the more I get pulled in, it’s like the devil has got me wrapped around his finger and I can’t escape. Maybe deep down I want to be the one on that cup with Jesus but I can’t admit it to myself yet. This cup needs to be removed immediately and replaced with something that arouses me and distracts my children far less!”
Starbucks corporate brand manager defended the introduction of the new cup by claiming it was expressing a message of love.
“I really don’t see why people are getting upset about this, the image is not meant to be pornographic in any capacity and those who see it that way are obviously blind to the message. Christ is kissing Santa Claus to show how the holiday is still connected to its Christian roots. It isn’t even a romantic kiss, it’s a kiss of respect and appreciation for one another. I think the art on this cup is brave and endearing and I wish people would show Christ kissing Santa more often. We will not remove the cup.”
Hallmark has reportedly made a deal with Starbucks to produce a movie about the cup and the romance that develops one Christmas between Christ and Santa.
