With Election Day just around the corner, many of us have faced call after call from campaign volunteers. Regardless of who you support, it can feel a bit overwhelming to be talking to so many different volunteers all at once. Here are some tips and tricks to let those callers know that, despite supporting their candidate, you’re just not that into them.
Let Them Down Easy: Say something like, “I love your enthusiasm, but I am currently unavailable.
“I Just Got Out of a Relationship”: This appeals to their empathy, no campaign volunteer will press you if you explain the vulnerable position you’re in.
Ask About the Opponent: By expressing interest (real or fake) in their opponent, they may be less likely to feel like they have a shot with you.
Please keep in mind that this list hasn’t been verified. Should they start to drive by your house at night, or start asking your friends and family about you, more drastic measures need to be taken.
